Member Paul Stephenson is one of three poets selected for the year-long Jerwood/Arvon Mentoring Scheme from hundreds of applicants. He is on his way to a Masterclass week at the Totleigh Barton centre, will receive mentoring by Patience Agbabi throughout the year, introductions to literary agents, take part in a book launch at Free Word Centre in London, and participate in a week-long writing retreat early next year.
This is a fantastic opportunity, and we are all very proud of Paul!
On 1st May, member Sarah Doyle will become the Pre-Raphaelite Society‘s first Poet-in-Residence. During her year in the role, Sarah will produce several poems for the Society, as well as give an illustrated reading, and contribute to the adjudication of their second poetry competition. Sarah says, “This is a great honour for me, and a wonderful opportunity for me to work with the PRS, promoting the Pre-Raphaelite movement and the poetry that it continues to inspire”. Congratulations, Sarah!
The Fellowship was established in 1982 to provide a peaceful setting where published writers can work without disturbance. Congratulations, Isabel!
