Highgate Poets at Enfield Poets Reading

Evenings start at 7.30 p.m. with “Poets from the Floor” and end by 10, with an interval for refreshments and socializing.

DIANA BISHOP’s plays, poems and short stories have been broadcast on the radio. Poet in Residence at Keats House in 2001, she returned in 2010 to give classes in writing and speaking poetry. Her book Drawing the Line (Brewster Press) was published in 2012.

FRANCES GALLEYMORE won 1st prize in the Battered Moon poetry competition and 2nd place in the Newark Poetry Society Open Competition. She has been published in various magazines and her 6th novel Veritas: finding the Goddess  was published in 2011.

VICKY OLLIVER has, this year, read at the N21 Festival and been published in the anthology Genius Floored: Alphabet of Days (Soaring Penguin Press). Her poetry responds to the human condition.  She enjoys travelling, reading, gardening and creative writing.

PAUL STEPHENSON has been published in many magazines. He was highly commended in the Bridport Prize 2011 and 3rd in the Kent & Sussex Open Competition 2012. This year he was selected for the year-long Jerwood/Arvon Monitoring Scheme.

MARY HASTELOW joined the Highgate Poets in 2012. She came 2nd in the 2009 Salopeot Open Competition and 4th in the 2011 Kent & Sussex Open Competition.

JONATHON TOTMAN also joined in 2012 and is the group’s newest member. He has dabbled in creative writing and has recently begun to take writing poetry more seriously.
